For years, I thought the best investments in business were websites, software, advertising or new equipment.
They're important, sure.
But the best investment I've ever made has been in myself.
The courses I took.
The books I read.
The mentors I worked with.
The rooms I put myself in.
The uncomfortable conversations I had.
The personal growth I committed to.
Every single one shaped the person and business owner I am today.
Education doesn't stop when you leave school or university. The most successful people I know are lifelong learners. They're curious, they ask questions and they're always looking for ways to improve.
The same goes for mentorship and networking.
Some of the biggest opportunities in my career have come from relationships, conversations and learning from people who had already walked the path before me.
And perhaps the most important investment of all is your wellbeing.
Therapy.
Hypnotherapy.
Coaching.
Boundaries.
Rest.
Movement.
Whatever self-care looks like for you.
You can't pour from an empty cup, and your business cannot thrive if you're constantly running on empty.
Personal growth isn't a luxury.
It's part of the job description.
Because when you grow, your business grows too.
If you're hesitating about investing in yourself, consider this your reminder:
Skills appreciate.
Knowledge compounds.
Confidence grows.
And unlike almost every other investment you'll make in life, nobody can ever take those things away from you.
For me, investing in myself has never delivered the highest expense.
It's delivered the highest return.
